Welcome!

Phootsy's Yarn Cottage has the largest selection of high quality yarns, fibers, patterns, books, hooks, needles and other crochet and knitting supplies in the area. You may visit physical location at 167 Haws Run Road in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Phootsy's Yarn Cottage We have yarn, classes, software and patterns all centered around knitting and crochet and are always interested in what your wants and needs may be.

We have instructors who live locally and love to share their particular art form. Most of us design and some are published. We are proud members of TKGA/CGOA local and national chapters and the Jacksonville NC Onslow County Chamber of Commerce. Most of us are military connected and are heavily involved volunteering in the civilian and military community.

Our goals are to continue providing a place for the "I can do it myself people", the "I like to do this, but not that" people and the "I would just rather have someone else do it" people. Once you look at the products and services you'll see what I mean by "DIY." I hope you will find something that appeals to you. If you don't see it, then ask for it by using the Contact Form.

About our cottage

Phootsy's Yarn Cottage The cottage was built in 1950.  The builder of the home is not clear, however there are many houses in this area that contain within it's walls the same exact layout and roof.

A carpenter who visited recently and had to go up in the attic and said there must have been a great snow storm just prior to when it was built, because the roof was what is called a "snow roof."  I have not checked that out personally..

We think that our little cottage perhaps has playful spirits living here because we have heard taps, thumps and bumps.  Some times the door opens without cause and the TV comes on for no apparent reason.  There have even been mornings when we come in to find balls of yarn on the floor.  Someone who visited told me that the spirit is a little boy named Jason.  At any rate he seems peaceful and as one customer put it,  "Love lives here."  Maybe someone local can give us some kind of information on our cottage.
