Phootsy's Yarn Cottage has the largest
selection of high quality yarns,
fibers, patterns, books, hooks, needles and other crochet and knitting supplies
in the area.

Our goals are to provide a place for the "I
can do it myself people", the "I like to do this, but not that" people and the
"I would just rather have someone else do it" people. You're sure to find something that appeals to you. If you don't see it,
then ask for it!
We have instructors who live locally and
love to share their particular art form. Most of us design and some are
published.
Most of us are military connected and are heavily involved volunteering
in the civilian and military community.
We have yarn, classes, software, patterns and
our UFO (Un-Finished Objects) Group. All are centered around knitting and
crochet. We are always interested in what your wants and needs may be.
About our Tudor Revival
The Tudor Revival was built in 1931
by Mr. Aman whose goal was a house that would last forever. Noting the
survival of many horrible hurricanes we think he accomplished his goal with the
16 inch solid brick walls. The Tudor brick style is evident in the
decorative brick laying and the five chimneys to imitate the medieval look.
According to local residents, who
have lived and worked in our neighborhood since 1931, Highway 17 used to run
over the old bridge along Old Bridge Street to Chaney Avenue and on to New
Berne.
